One continuous charging session at 7.2 kW grid power and 90% efficiency. Required battery energy is capacity × SOC increase; grid energy includes charging losses. Fixed power and efficiency are assumptions, not vehicle measurements.
With a complete rate, the preserved optimizer compares immediate charging, 15-minute start candidates and the latest feasible start, splitting cost at tariff boundaries and partial final intervals. Without prices, we show a feasible immediate schedule and latest feasible start without claiming a cheapest plan.
All times use America/Los_Angeles and elapsed time across daylight saving. The experimental thermal comparison uses the same applied energy and tariff inputs, with documented heat-transfer assumptions. No utility account connection, charging curve or battery degradation model is active.
